EdVisorly AI Pilot Project

Transforming Transfer in Alabama...it STARTS here!

Our Initial Partners

Background on EdVisorly & Alabama Transfers Partnership

Student Experience and Success with EdVisorly

EdVisorly is an Artificial Intelligence(AI)-powered platform dedicated to supporting community college students in their journey to successfully transfer to four-year colleges and universities. EdVisorly’s mission is to make transfer pathways transparent, accessible, and achievable for all students, while maximizing their success during their time at community college. EdVisorly proudly collaborates with innovative and forward-thinking institutions—both two-year and four-year—across the United States.

Pilot Program Timeline and Objectives

Launching in Summer 2025, EdVisorly is partnering with Alabama Transfers to reimagine the transfer experience within Alabama’s higher education system. This initial three-year pilot program will provide selected Alabama community colleges with access to EdVisorly’s platform. The goal is to strengthen both transfer and reverse transfer pathways between Alabama’s community colleges and four-year institutions.

Through close collaboration with Alabama Transfers and participating colleges, EdVisorly will tailor the platform to meet institutional needs, streamline transfer processes, and help design the future of statewide transfer systems in Alabama.

EdVisorly’s Role in Supporting Transfer

EdVisorly works directly with colleges, universities, and state systems to improve transfer, reverse transfer, and dual enrollment capabilities. As the most robust and trusted AI-based transfer platform, EdVisorly offers:

  • A modern solution for managing course articulation data

  • A seamless, student-friendly transfer pathway experience

  • Automated support for transfer planning and reverse transfer processing

This partnership provides Alabama community college students with clearer, more relevant, and more achievable pathways to four-year degrees, empowering them with tools designed for long-term success.

Return on Investment for Partnering Institutions

Thanks to funding from Alabama Transfers, this pilot is being offered at no cost to Troy University and several of Troy’s top partner community colleges, including:

EdVisorly’s platform will automate transfer credit evaluation, streamline transfer pathway planning, and empower enrollment teams with industry-leading technology to enhance forward and reverse transfer.

Looking to the Future

The pilot will span several enrollment cycles. After successful testing and feedback, the initiative is expected to expand to all remaining community colleges and public four-year colleges and universities across Alabama over the next five years. Ongoing funding will continue through Alabama Transfers’ annual budget. There is also on-going discussion about collaborating with private colleges and universities to join the program . Private four-year colleges and universities will have the opportunity to join this initiative on the basis of an annual subscription.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you have other questions about this pilot program that are not addressed below?  If so, please email us and we will try to get you an answer ASAP.

  1. What does this program look like for community college students, how do they use EdVisorly, and how does it contribute to their success post-transfer?

Students upload a picture or the PDF file of their unofficial transcript to the Alabama Transfers & EdVisorly Platform. EdVisorly leverages artificial intelligence to generate a personalized transfer plan showing students how their credits apply toward a degree at a four-year university. This clarity reduces lost credits, accelerates completion, and improves transfer success.

  2. What is the timeline of the pilot program?

The pilot is scheduled to run from Fall 2025 through Summer 2027, with implementation and onboarding beginning this summer (2025).

  3. What are the key things to be accomplished during the pilot program?

    The pilot will deliver:

    • AI-generated student transfer pathways that are aligned with the current best practices of supporting student success.
    • Opportunities for prospective and currently enrolled students to build pathways to and through partner community colleges in the initial pilot program.
    • One simple and effective cross-institution enrollment dashboard to allow pilot institutions track key accountability metrics from the platform to uplift transfer, degree completion, reverse transfer, and more.
    • Streamlined collaboration between community colleges and four-year universities.
  4. How does EdVisorly support transfer from four-year institutions to two-year institutions?

Students transferring from four-year to two-year institutions can identify, plan, and visualize their remaining coursework for community college degree and certificate completion as well as four-year university transfer via a simple and easy to use platform.

  5. How does EdVisorly support reverse transfer for students from two-year institutions that transfer to four-year institutions?

We collaborate with four-year institutions to identify students who earn enough credits to retroactively receive an associate degree and facilitate communication with the community college for credential completion. The reverse transfer process is automated to reduce the workload on registrars and records office staff.

  6. What is the return on investment of time and effort for the public two-year institutions?

The pilot is provided at no cost to public institutions. Institutions benefit from access to industry-leading AI technology that is powering top higher education institutions nationwide, improving operational efficiencies, credit mobility, degree completion, increased accountability and reporting for student outcomes, and advancing transfer yields.

  7. What is the return on investment of time and effort for the public four-year institutions?

The return on investment (ROI) for four-year colleges and universities participating in the EdVisorly & Alabama Transfers pilot program is multifaceted—delivering both tangible and intangible institutional benefits that directly support enrollment growth, student success, and operational efficiency.

By participating in the pilot or opting into EdVisorly’s AI-powered tools, four-year institutions gain access to high-impact solutions that:

    • Build visibility among community college students using EdVisorly to explore viable transfer pathways, increasing the likelihood of being selected as a transfer destination.
    • Boost transfer conversion rates, as students are more likely to enroll when they clearly understand how their credits apply to degree programs—reducing uncertainty and dropout risk.

The integration of EddyNavigate™ and EddyDB™ empowers four-year institutions to:

    • Provide transparent and accurate credit evaluations, minimizing credit loss and time-to-degree for incoming transfer students.
    • Support degree completion and retention by aligning course-taking behaviors with clear pathways—benefitting institutional performance metrics and reputational outcomes.
    • Enable reverse transfer automation, ensuring that students who move between institutions still earn meaningful credentials (e.g., associate degrees)—enhancing institutional graduation rates and student outcomes.

Participation in the pilot grants access to AI-driven workflow automation, such as:

    • Automated reverse transfer credentialing, which eliminates the administrative burden on registrars and records offices, with efficiencies that translate into:
    • Lower administrative costs.
    • Faster, more accurate services for students.
    • Greater capacity to focus on strategic initiatives.
  8. What among EdVisorly’s suite of products is accessible to participating institutions and included within the pilot program funded through Alabama Transfers?

    • EddyDB™ - an AI-powered database for state-wide course equivalency and articulation management
    • EddyNavigate™ - student transfer planning technology
